I kind of change my mind about curriculum every single year that I homeschool, but this year I committed myself to teaching Social Studies using The Story of the World by Susan Wise Bauer. This comes straight out of the classical teaching model and, I believe, is used with the Classical Conversations curriculum. I don’t do CC with my kids, but we all love the format and interesting facts in The Story of the World. I’m sure there are all kinds of supporting curriculum you can purchase to go along with this book, but I decided to make my own timeline cards. We hang one up in our office every time we study a new civilization or time period. The kids seem to get a big kick out of it. So that we homeschoolers don’t all have to reinvent the wheel, I will share my timeline cards with you! (I cut them out and covered each of them with clear contact paper to make them last longer.)
